The PROTOS® Mining* was developed specifically for the demands of underground and open-pit mining. Its integrated design combines head protection with modular hearing and eye protection, as well as a mounting option for work lamps. The helmet is certified to AS/NZS 1801, Type 1.
The 3-point suspension system, combined with a special shock-absorbing construction, absorbs impacts and cushions their force. The deep neck shell and 20-position size adjustment ensure a secure fit. A ventilation slider and the KlimaAIR® padding help maintain comfort during long shifts.
The modular system can be adapted to the requirements of the workplace. Integrated hearing protection with a parking position, safety glasses, a chin strap and a neck protection cloth can be added depending on the application. A compatible lamp holder for common work lamps is available separately.

Survival stories that inspire us
I just didn’t hear the warning call “Timber!”. In September 2018, as I often do, I was doing some forestry work in the dense spruce forest when, out of nowhere, a tree weighing over a ton, hit me from behind. The emergency team was quite surprised to find that I was still conscious in view of my serious injuries.
At the hospital, the situation seemed dramatic – severe fractures of the shoulder, vertebrae, pelvis and legs, and a level 1 out of 3 traumatic head injury. However, what the doctors could hardly believe was that despite the severe blow to the back of my head, there was not a single bone fracture in my head and no injury to my cervical spine. The PROTOS® Forest protected me from this and thus saved my life.
After several operations and months of rehabilitation, I went to Koblach and handed over my destroyed head protection to the PROTOS® team. The fact that I was able to walk again without a walker is just incredible.
